Vintage Very Rare Large Glass Stuart & Sons Peacock Eye Bowl. 11.5 inches in diameter. Color : Clear with green and blue trailing glass details. Body : Clear crimped bowl with green and blue peacock eye trailing and ribbed moulding.
Dimensions : just under 12 inches. Condition : Good with no chips or cracks, This bowl is 115 years old and is in amazing condition and will look spectacular on display, of course with something of this age there are some signs of wear from movement and use in the form of surface scratching around the base from placement and a small patch on the interior rim from use as can be seen in the photographs. Stuart and Sons are renowned for this style of Art Nouveau decoration.
They were based in Stourbridge England where other well-known glass makers were also founded such as Stevens & Williams, Thomas Webb and Richardson.
